Thanks everyone for attending our only gig in Coventry
this year it was a great night and everyone
rocked.
Its now drawing to the end of the year and our Xmas season starts.
Starting with 3 Nights this week at the Jam House, Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd,
Saturday 3rd.
Then we move off to perform for our returning troops, before 2 nights at the
Rock With Laughter VIP after show party at the LG Arena Birmingham,
Then 2 Nights at Stourbridge Football club and
we finish the year as ever at the Jam House on the 31st

We have had a great month, we started the month with a festival
in the north at Pickering with Hazel,
then we spent a couple of days at the test match in which England became number
one in the world,
it was great to be a part of the celebrations. Our regular visit to our favourite
venue The Jam House
was where we stopped off for 2 nights in the middle of the month and then
a run of four gigs included
one at the T20 Cricket finals and a great Festival in Bedfordshire called
Rhythm Festival. A few days
off now and back out again for September. Keep your eye on our gig list and

| The Subs are happy to say that they have booked a gig in Coventry, This will be at the Coventry and Warwickshire cricket club on the Binley Road on the 12th November 2011. Ticket details are to follow. Hope to see everyone from the area as we haven't played in Coventry this year so we are really looking forward to it.

Coventry next, we haven't got anything lined up yet for Subs on our
own, however we are playing along with Hazel in the Cathedral ruins
on 27th May 2011 Along with some great other acts headlined by Neville
Staple from The Specials. WEBSITE Well as you can see our new website is up and running we would like to say a big thankyou to Peter and Antonio in Paris for putting it together for us. We had a 30 second conversation in London and within a few days they had put together an amazing site for us... we will be building on it now and hope to keep it up to date with new pics, songs etc. GUS MCGRATH Our dear friend Gus died this week suddenly. He was
an inspiration to many up and coming musician trying to start in music,
He opened his doors to everyone. He was the kindest bloke you will ever
meet and his zest for life was amazing. In the early days of bands we
were all involved in, Gus would think nothing of organising minibuses
down to London and filling them with people to watch and support the
Coventry bands who had got the chance to play in the Capital. He played
guitar and had a wonderful voice but it took a lot for us to get him
to show off his talents... usually about 3am was the best time to catch
him, He often would step in last minute in the early days of the subs
and do the sound for us nothing ever too much trouble. Our thoughts
are with Tracy, Joe and Anna also the rest of Gus's extended family.
He is a friend we will never forget and proud to have known.

WOW ITS MARCH ALREADY!! The Subs had a well earned break after December and went on hols for January. They have since done a couple of gigs at the Jam House and sell out gigs at Londons Leicester Square Theatre and Bristols Colston Hall. Hazels mother Joyce died on the 15th feb 2011, the band sends all its love to Joyce
R.I.P, Hazel gave a party to celebrate Joyce's life which was wonderful many people there singing
telling stories and poems. Thank you Hazel.

Congratulations to Hazel O'Connor who has rightly been honoured as a Coventry walk of fame star. Other artists honoured include The Specials and The Selector. A formal unveiling will take place during May and The Subs will be there to support Hazel. Live music is back at The Cottage in Earlsdon, Coventry! The Subs will play on the 19th April. For a lot of local musicians The Cottage is synonymous with live music. We are glad they have brought it back and very happy to be a part of the new Sunday evening live night. |

Thank you to everyone who screamed, shouted and sang along on the live recordings at the Jam House in January. Look out later in the year for the resulting album. Also a big thank you to everyone who came to The Cricket Club in Coventry it was a sell out and I'm sure there will be more to come there. The Subs are to travel to Edinburgh this month to play the Jam House. Those who see us at The Jam House Birmingham will know the excellent Dino Babtiste who will be support. Finally, The Subs are honoured to be invited to perform at a very special event at The Ricoh Arena, on behalf of the family of Lindsay Ann Hawker.
